You Have Not Lost Direction, You Never Truly Had One

Perhaps you have not lost anything. You are only seeing that you have walked too long in a borrowed direction.

Many people say they have lost direction.

It sounds as if direction once existed, and then somehow disappeared.

But some lives never truly had one to begin with.

You follow what seems right. What reassures your family. What the world calls maturity.

You keep moving. You may even move far. But inwardly, something keeps loosening.

Not because you are weak. Because the destination was never really yours.

Borrowed direction can create order. It cannot create belonging.

Direction may not arrive as a grand calling. Sometimes it begins when you finally admit you do not yet have your own.

You do not need to recover an old direction. You need to begin having your own.
